Makoma Maponya

Makoma obtained her BA Honours degree in Strategic Communication and Marketing at the University of Johannesburg. Her passion for personal and professional branding is rooted in experience gained as a brand ambassador and the inspiration she draws from different cultures and travel. In 2010 she lived in India as an exchange student and returned to South Africa with a new outlook on life and communication. While studying she founded the Teach a Girl Foundation as a platform to create content for campaigns that alleviate poverty in her community and raise awareness of the social issues which affect the education of young girls. The work done through her foundation has earned her a New Generation social and digital media award in 2017 as well as a silver PRISA Prism award in the 2018 student category.
After completing her studies, she moved back home to the tropical garden town of Tzaneen in Limpopo to live with her family and focus on the foundation. She joined the reputation matters team with a strong desire to learn and develop the necessary research and creative skills to build a career in the communication and reputation management industry.
