Do you or your organisation have what it takes to be recognised as a champion of transformation? Nominations are now open for the Motlekar Holdings BBQ Awards, South Africa’s most prestigious and longest running black business awards ceremony celebrating good corporate governance and leadership. Consisting of twelve categories, the Awards is a platform applauding world-class individuals, black-owned and empowered companies and organisations in South Africa. Finalists and winners will be honoured at an annual gala dinner on Friday, 30 October 2015 at Emperor’s Palace, Johannesburg.

Leaders of transformation in South Africa are invited to nominate themselves or their counterparts for the Motlekar Holdings BBQ Awards. Individuals, black-owned and empowered companies and organisations will come together to celebrate stellar leadership in the country.  For the past 13 years, the Awards have encouraged and celebrated sustainable black business and transformation through the recognition of good corporate governance leadership and achievement.

Winners and finalists will be commended at a fun and entertaining evening with world-renowned comedian, Riaad Moosa as Programme Director. Invited guests include H.E Mr Pravin Gordhan, Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs and Cllr. Mpho Parks Tau, Executive Mayor of Johannesburg. Festivities will be topped off with musical entertainment.

“South African businesses are faced with multifaceted challenges such as the wavering economy and the rising inflation rate. The Awards are an encouragement to business owners across the country that determination and consistency leads to successful transformation,” shares Greg Penfold, Head of Events Division at Cape Media. The twelve categories accommodate new BBBEE business arena entrants, whose new enterprise progress over the last 18 months has demonstrated exceptional progress, to organisations who invest in community building and generally have made sustainable business strides since inception. “We are very excited to see which organisations and individuals will take this challenge head-on this year to be recognised as champions of transformation,” concludes Penfold.
